Got a question?
We can help.
We would advise that you start with the Likit Holder, which is the most cost effective way of introducing your horse to our products. Alternatively you can try feeding a Little Likit or our Likit Treat Bar by hand.
The best way to open the Likit packaging is to remove the lid, put both thumbs at the top of the tear strip (the thickest part of the plastic), push down to break the seal and then peel the plastic down the strip. Repeat on the other side. Open the shell and twist the Likit to free from packaging. If you would like to view a step-by-step video, click here.
This is easily solved, just use a pair of our hot pink Likit Pliers. Grip the side of the empty pot with the pliers and pull, you may need to repeat on either side of the pot if it is firmly stuck in the hole. If you can’t get hold of Likit pliers, any normal set of household pliers will do the trick! If you would like to view a step-by-step video, click here.
Apple seems to be the current favourite, but it varies dependent on the country. In the UK Cherry is very popular but in Germany Banana is their favourite flavour. However we are always keen to hear your views so please do Get in touch and let us know your horse’s favourite flavour or ideas as to new flavours we should produce.

As the main component of a Likit is Glucose, Likits will provide energy. However, provided the recommended daily intake is adhered to there should be little or no effect on your horse’s energy levels.
Horses normally graze for about 16 hours per day. A 500kg horse would consume at least 50kg of fresh grass, which is equivalent to about 2kg of sugar per day or 125 grams per hour of grazing. We recommend that horses consume a maximum of 300 grams of Likit per day, which is equivalent to approximately 2 hours grazing.
If you have a horse that is prone to laminitis or on a low sugar diet then we have a range of salt based Likits and Little Likits that can be used in conjunction with our range of Likit toys.
